One gets a good sense of Hitler’s real personality through this footage because some of it was edited out of the final productions (i.e., Hitler waving, smiling, and pointing at audience members, and talking as opposed to shouting). Upon watching this video several times, one thing strikes me especially so: I do believe Hitler’s voice breaks (I suspect that he almost cries) at 08:16/01:02. Listen to the change in tone carefully when he says, “I myself...bring you home.” Just incredible, the sincerity of feeling he had for his people.
